Do you prefer using github pages over surge for quick ember deploys? The tutorial section which mentions deploying (https://guides.emberjs.com/v2.14.0/tutorial/deploying/) has a pretty straightforward guide on how to use surge and it’s been a really pleasant/easy experience (takes less than a minute to deploy :D).
